1. Launching the application
Open a web browser and enter the corresponding URL to display the AviWeb start and login screen.

Enter your registered email/username and password.
If you do not have an account, click on sign up and fill in the required fields

2. Sign up
Clicking on Request registration displays the registration form.
On the Registration form, fill in only the following;
Email
Address (Postal/Street)
Mobile number
Company Name
Once the form is filled out, clicking on Submit a confirmation link is sent to the e-mail address
entered in the form.
Opening the e-mail and Clicking on the link sends the registration request to the User Management.
Once the administrator had created a user profile an e-mail is sent to the user with the login and
password to be used.
Clicking on the username after log in displays personal information. Here it is possible to modify all
personal information but the e-mail address.
Clicking on Change Password at the bottom of the Edit Personal information enables the user to
modify his password.

Logout: Clicking on Logout logs the user out and displays the login screen again.

Briefing
3. Flight plan Filing
Click the icon FPL Filing, in the drop down menu and then click on the FPL (Flight Plan) icon
This brings up the ICAO flight plan form; this is filled in just like the hard copy flight plan form.

NOTE:
Online help can be accessed by pressing F1 in the required field. Some help text about the
field the cursor is positioned in is displayed when clicking on the [F1]-key. Clicking
anywhere on the screen closes the help.
Under aircraft equipment, pressing F4 on the keyboard lists all the accepted designators for
equipment; select the required equipment by ticking the provided checkboxes.
Under supplementary information, for POB; input a number or leave the box blank to imply
TBN (do not type in any character other than number)
Reset: used to clear all entries in the form, and give a blank form
Validate: used to check the form for any errors in the flight plan. FPL errors will have to be
corrected before submitting the flight plan and an Indication is given by the system when an
error is made.
Validation warning: does not prevent the flight plan from being transmitted:
Submit: used for submitting the flight plan to the AIM system

After validating the flight plan and it shows success or warning, click Submit.
Opens the addressing form in order to submit the flight plan to the responsible centre.
Ticking the Auto Addressing checkbox enters automatically the configured standard
addresses in the Addresses part of the form.
Notify
A notification is sent to the user.
The drop down box enables the choice of the type of notification:
SMS-Not available
E-mail- In the second field the email address of the user to be notified has to be entered. You
can change the email address to which the FPL notification email should be sent.
Addresses
The AFTN addresses to which the flight plan shall be send are entered in this field. Between
each address the [Tab]-key shall be pressed or a click outside the field shall be made.
Click Submit to transmit the flight plan to ATS
A message showing successful submission of the flight plan will appear as shown below

4. Flight plan manager:
Enables user to view edit and delete flight plans to monitor Filed Flight plans
This brings up three options:
a) Processed Flight Plan List:
Enables the user to view, cancel, delay and modify flight plans accepted by the Briefing officer as
well as to create new flight plans and normal route briefings from these accepted flight plans.
When the flight plan has been accepted by the ATS reporting Office, a notification is also sent on the
registered/submitted email as shown below and the flight plan also appears under the processed
list

Clicking on the '+' sign on the left of the aircraft ID expand the CPL and displays all related
ATS messages.
Clicking on the '-' sign on the left of the aircraft ID collapses the CPL.
A right mouse click anywhere on the CPL opens the context menu shown below
View:
Click View PDF; this brings an option for viewing the PDF version of the flight plan, this can then be
downloaded and saved or printed by the user
Cancel: The Cancel function displays the ATS - Cancellation form. In this form it is only possible to
click on the [Submit]-button
Delay: The Delay function displays the ATS - Delay form. In this form it is only possible to modify
the estimated off block time and the date of flight
Change: The Change function displays the ATS Modification form. In this form only the fields in
the blue parts can be modified.

Create New Form: Used to open a New Filghtplan form from the already filed FPL.
Create Normal Route Briefing: Used to create Normal Route Briefing from the Filed FPL
b) Unprocessed Flight Plan List:
The Unprocessed function enables the user to view, modify and delete flight plans that have not
yet been accepted by the centre.
c) Rejected Flight Plan List:
The Rejected function enables the user to view, delete flight plans that have been rejected by the
centre as well as to create new flight plans from these rejected flight plans.

5. Pre-flight Information Bulletin (PIB)
The Briefing function enables the user to create pre-flight information briefings of several
Types:To obtain a PIB, click Briefing and select one of the 4 different types of PIBs that can be
generated namely;
Aerodrome bulletin
Special Area bulletin
Narrow route bulletin
Normal route bulletin
a) Aerodrome Bulletin:
This gives a PIB for aerodromes selected by the user; it requires at least one aerodrome to
be entered by the user.

Fill out the form as required (Time, Flight Level and Notam filter can be used to specify the required
NOTAM and reduce unnecessary NOTAM for the flight). Click submit to obtain the PIB
You can read the PIB on the screen or click PDF to save the PIB on the PC.
This procedure is similar to the one for the other types of PIBs, the difference being the inputs for
filtering the NOTAM.
b) Normal Route Bulletin;
Normal route bulletin this gives NOTAM for DEPARTURE, DESTINATION, ALTERNATE Aerodromes
and the FIRs through which the flight will pass.
c) Special Area Bulletin
The NOTAM selected for the special area briefing generally uses these geographic filters:
Aerodrome List
Restricted Area List
Polygon List and
Circle List
d) Narrow Route Bulletin
This NOTAM Selected for Narrow Route Bulletin specifically uses the route specified and the
affected Information Region affected.
